Run up the ArcelorMittal Orbit, then Slide back down – it’s you versus the clock!
Take on the ArcelorMittal Orbit in this new and exciting challenge! Starting with a safety briefing on the ground, you’ll then be ushered to the start line for an exclusive starting slot. Listen out for the horn, as you’ll fly off one challenger at a time, into the staircase chamber, that skirts the 178m to the viewing platform at the top of the iconic ArcelorMittal Orbit. Can you keep your head start before the next challenger overtakes you?
Keep your head up as you look out through the staircase walls, escalating up over the London Stadium, Canary Wharf, Westfield Stratford City, Docklands and the City of London. As your legs feel the burn and your heart races to keep up, you’ll orbit the loops and curves of Sir Anish Kapoor’s structure 6 times before your 455th step to the top across the finish line. Take a moment to enjoy the view, grab a drink and catch your breath – before taking the hair-raising Slide back down.
Opened in 2016, The Slide was named No.1 Thing to Do in London by Time Out, promising a 45-second thrill through clear and dark sections including the ‘bettfeder’ – that’s German for ‘bedspring’ and the final 50m straight into the landing zone.
Your climb time will be ready for you to pick up instantly from the UpSlideDown hub, with our live individual and team leaderboards showing your ranking amongst your fellow challengers.
